The story
My creative journey began during design school when an introduction to weaving in 2016 sparked a deep passion for looms, textures, and rhythms. After gaining foundational experience working intensely with artisan looms and spending time with an export home decor brand in Mumbai, I shifted my focus entirely toward home decor. Recognizing a distinct gap in the Indian market for bespoke wall decor, I launched my brand, Tapestry Street, during the lockdown period, starting with small wall hangings distributed to friends and promoted via Instagram.
Over the years, Tapestry Street expanded organically from weaving into self-taught techniques like macramé, punch needle, and tufting, growing into a thriving brand that handles custom orders, workshops, and large-scale installations such as international resort projects. Today, I operate a dedicated two-layer studio in Pune that accommodates my personal workspace and community workshops, while also preparing monumental pieces for design exhibitions like the Pune Design Show.
